In November 1983, Epson Australia Pty Limited opened its doors for business with just two staff members in an industrial warehouse in Sydney’s Frenchs Forest. Today, over twenty one years later, Epson has over 130 staff members throughout Australia and is one of Australia’s leading printer and projector suppliers. Epson’s involvement in printers began in 1964 when, in partnership with Seiko, it developed a high speed, lightweight printer, to record the results for the Tokyo Olympic Games. This led to the release in 1968 of the world’s first successfully miniaturised printer. In 1985 Epson and Seiko merged to form Seiko Epson Corporation. In Australia, Epson’s head office is in Sydney with sales offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. New Zealand offices are located in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
