Winners of Balloon Festival Photo Contest

digital-photo-nov15.jpgQueensbury, Organizers of the Adirondack Balloon Festival have announced the winners of their annual photo contest, Walter Griskot, executive director of the festival said that around 150 entries were submitted for judging under two group first is adult and second is youth. The adult first-place winner was Andrew Jacovia, of Kew Gardens. First place in the youth category was awarded to Erin Colby, of Levittown. The grand prize winner was Deborah D’Onofrio, lives in West Haven, Conn., who won for her photograph of an inflated, tethered balloon at the Moonglow event held each year in Lake George. Moonglow is held at night, allowing the balloons to glow. Winners can make a choice of the prize on phone. Prizes which will be given to the winners this year are Bogen Manfroto tripod, a luncheon cruise for four adults on the Lac du St. Sacrement, an overnight stay and breakfast for two at the Holiday Inn Turf at Lake George, a cruise for two adults with Shoreline Cruises and an overnight stay and breakfast for two adults at Ramada Inn.

HP Will Now Concentrate On Print 2.0

Hewlett-Packard has pronounced that they no longer plan to manufacture, distribute and design their digital cameras, the company wants to focus more on its Print 2.0, home photo printing and online photo services. On the other hand HP declared that they will prefer to sell the cameras under its own brand and the company is finding a manufacturer who will provide license to the design and distribute it. HP also said that they will be selling digital cameras till the end of 2007 and hoping to have the partnership arrangement in place by first half of 2008. HP is making preparation to improve its Web-based printing services and tools for digital content creation.

A School Teacher Sherifa’s Life Story

She is working as a science teacher at a primary school in the village; earning 340 Egyptian pounds a week. She loves teaching her job but sometimes she shout, punish and even physically hurt the students because she has to deal with different and large number of students every day. Her school is only ten minutes walk from her home, after reaching home Sherifa cooks lunch for her husband who is working as a driver; She also helps her mother-in-law in the kitchen. Sherifa takes a half-hour break from school for shopping; she says “After the school day, I don’t have time for shopping, I head home directly, to do the rest of the housework.”
