The Success Story of Epson

By Jake Harpin on October 8th, 2007

In November 1983, Epson Australia Pty Limited opened its doors for business with just two staff members in an industrial warehouse in Sydney’s Frenchs Forest. Today, over twenty one years later, Epson has over 130 staff members throughout Australia and is one of Australia’s leading printer and projector suppliers. Epson’s involvement in printers began in 1964 when, in partnership with Seiko, it developed a high speed, lightweight printer, to record the results for the Tokyo Olympic Games. This led to the release in 1968 of the world’s first successfully miniaturised printer. In 1985 Epson and Seiko merged to form Seiko Epson Corporation. In Australia, Epson’s head office is in Sydney with sales offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. New Zealand offices are located in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

By Jake Harpin on October 3rd, 2007

At the request of Elton John, British gallery that turned over a photo of two naked girls got closed. The BALTIC Center for Contemporary Art, in Gateshead, northeastern England, said it closed “Thanksgiving,” an installation of 149 pictures by American photographer Nan Goldin, at John’s request. “After the removal of one image from the series it was no longer possible for BALTIC to exhibit the collection of works as the artist intended,” the gallery said in a statement. “Therefore BALTIC is sympathetic to Sir Elton John’s request and supportive of the decision.” Police confirmed they were looking at the picture to assess whether an offense had been committed, but have refused further comment.

The Evo3 Software

By Jake Harpin on October 1st, 2007

“The Evo3 was a very ideal partner to our business. With imaging and photo-printing in the same line of business, it was very easy for us to absorb the concept. The Evo3 software is very easy to operate. Our clerks as well as our customers have an easy time operating it. With the Tronix Evo3, our sales increased. It was really a business boom,” recounted Mrs. Castillo. “For first-time entrepreneurs like us, acquiring the Evo3 was really a very good decision. In less than a year, we were able to recover our investment.” “The advantage of the Tronix Evo3 is its low material cost. Because of this, we can have higher margins, which is beneficial to first-time business owners,” attested Mr. Castillo.
